1) a) Discuss the salient features of I.P.
b) Explain the development of profession of pharmacy in India.

2) a) What is prescription? Write in detail the contents of prescription with examples.
b) Calculate
i) The amount of sodium bicarbonate required to prepare 3.5% w/v of 120ml sodium bicarbonate solution.
ii) Convert 30° UP and 22° P into % v/v of alcohol.
iii) The 35%v/v and 50%v/v alcohol required to prepare 250ml of 40%v/v alcohol.
iv) The working formula to prepare 30ml of 1% procaine HCl eye drops by adjusting isotonicity.
(F.P.D of procaine HCl = 0.122°c)

3) a) Classify mixtures with examples and describe the principle and procedure involved in preparation of mixtures containing in diffusible solids.
b) Enumerate the differences between lotions and liniments.
c) How do you prepare the powders containing eutectic substances?

4) a) What is incompatibility? What are different types of physical incompatibility with examples.
b) Discuss the percolation process with a neat sketch.
c) How do you prepare a mixture containing Quinine sulphate – 1gm, dilute HCl – 5ml, KI – 0.5gm, and water upto 50ml?

a) Hospital pharmacy organization
b) Hospital pharmacist

6) a) Discuss the procedure involved for drug distribution in a hospital.
b) Write about drug information center.

7) a) Describe the role of pharmacist in healthcare and education.
b) What is the procedure involved in purchase of drugs and inventory control in hospital?

8) a) Write in brief about:
i) Patient medication profile
ii) Cases on adverse reactions in hospitals
b) What is prescription filling? Write the brief procedure of prescription filling.
